IMAC operates a small office and has an immediate opportunity available for an Assistant to the General Manager. This is available on a full time basis for a candidate with suitable experience. Only Caymanians and those with Cayman Status will be considered. You are required to complete all duties accurately and reliably in a professional and courteous manner at all times. The ideal candidate will have or be working towards a business related degree with a high GPA and have relevant business experience. 

The work is varied and requires persons who have good people and PC skills with at least intermediate proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook including being able to troubleshoot basic IT problems as they arise. You must be able to quickly learn various new web-based applications and work reliably, methodically and accurately with discretion and professionalism and use your own initiative. Some Accounting, Marketing, Event Planning and graphic design experience is also preferable. This is not a position for a school leaver.

There will be opportunities to learn and develop these skills and interact with various IMAC committee members who are employed in the captive insurance industry (see our Membership page for Insurance Managers) including attending and participating in various committee meetings, as well as interacting with our Cayman Captive Forum attendees, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors etc. It is a requirement of the September to January period that you must be available for the weeks up to, during and immediately after the Cayman Captive Forum in early December at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman and assist a team with on-site registrations for the #1,400 attendees and with all matters relating to making Cayman's largest annual conference another successful event.  The Forum is the world's largest Captive Insurance Conference and is an important marketing tool for the Cayman Islands which is a top domicile.

Your duties and responsibilities will be comprised of a wide variety of aspects of IMAC’s activities including but not limited to:

  • Cayman Captive Forum, November 28 - 30, 2017 including administration of exhibitors and sponsors contracts, speakers, websites and attendee registrations, cancellations, credit card processing etc, and assisting with on-site Forum administration,
  • IMAC educational and social events,
  • Various IMAC events including the RIMS, Canadian RIMS and ASHRM conferences,
  • Membership records, including maintaining the iContact membership list, members webpages etc.,
  • Quickbooks Accounting records including invoicing, processing receivables, bank reconciliations, processing membership applications and changes etc.
  • Membership surveys etc.

The normal hours of work will be from 9:00am to 5:00pm with a one hour lunch break Monday through Friday with a monthly salary of between US$ 3,000 to US$ 4,000 pm plus benefits. IMAC will contribute 50% to the cost of health insurance and pension.
